If you’re reading this hungry, BE WARNED.
After reading this post, you might feel the need to book a Disneyland trip ASAP. The 2023 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival has officially begun at Disneyland Resort and there are LOTS of things to do. From now through April 25th, you can devour some tasty eats and drinks, check out unique entertainment, and more. Wondering just what you can eat at the Avocado Time booth? Well, we’ve checked it out and now we’re sharing our FULL thoughts.
Menu
Over at the Avocado Time booth, you’ll find a variety of available items. There are 3 NEW menu items this year, which include two new snacks and one new non-alcoholic beverage!
Now that we’ve taken a quick look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the NEW Impossible Nacho Mac & Cheese. This is cheddar mac & cheese featuring Seasoned Impossible
Ground Beef, Tomatoes, Olives, Jalapeños, and Guacamole. This was $7.
Going into this dish, we were a little unsure of how it would all mix together. It’s a lot of different ingredients all combined into one dish. But…it totally works! The mix of flavors and textures is really fun, and the Impossible meat is seasoned well.
Our reporter who tried this fully admitted that they’re not an olive fan, but it’s easy enough to pick around those, so don’t let that scare you off. Truly, the dish is great. The portion size of the guacamole is generous and the portion size of the dish as a whole is really good for the $7 price.
Next, we tried the NEW Impossible Al Pastor Taco. It is an Al Pastor Taco featuring Impossible
Pork with Grilled Pineapple and Avocado-Tomatillo Sauce. This is $7.25. Unfortunately, this did not wow us as much as the mac and cheese. For starters, the taco is TINY for the price.
But on top of the small size, it just tastes…fine. Nothing really jumps out flavor-wise. Now, we won’t deny that this IS a good vegetarian/vegan item (it is a plant-based dish), but unfortunately we don’t think it’s something that’ll blow your mind and it’s pricey for the size.
Now on to the drinks!
Drinks
In terms of drinks at this booth, we got the NEW (non-alcoholic) Blackberry-Lavender Lemonade. The drink features Blackberry Purée and Syrup, Lavender Syrup, Pineapple & Lemon Juices, garnished with a Lemon Wheel. You can get this for $6.50. This is a truly divisive drink.
One of our reporters who tried this really liked it. But the other felt that it tasted like a perfume your grandma might wear — not exactly something you’d want to drink! Where you’ll stand on the debate will definitely depend on your taste buds, but just be warned that the flavors in this one can be…less than appealing to some.
You can also add a Red Grapes or Green Grapes Glow Cube Charm added to your drink for $6.25. You can see the green grapes in our drink above and the purple grapes below.
And that’s it from this booth!
OVERALL
Overall, the Avocado Time booth is a bit of a mix. The Nacho Mac & Cheese is a winner in our book with a big portion size and an awesome mix of flavors and textures. The taco, on the other hand, is just ok and very small for the price. And the drink here is something you’ll either love or hate, so it’s a bit of a risk to order. Still, if you like the sound of these items, you might want to add Avocado Time to your list of booths to visit.
