Have you heard the very important Disney World transportation update?
Disney World has all kinds of free transportation for you to use to get between the parks, hotels, and Disney Springs. There’s a fleet of buses, a few Monorail lines, boats, and the Skyliner. It’s fun to use the more unique options, like the Monorail and Skyliner, and they’re often faster than the buses and boats anyways. But if you were planning to ride the Skyliner, you need to watch out for its scheduled CLOSURE.
The Disney Skyliner closed on January 22nd, and it won’t reopen until January 30th. So for guests planning to stay at a hotel with a Skyliner station or hoping to use the Skyliner to get between EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll need to plan for alternate transportation.
Disney is providing bus transportation for hotels on the Skyliner lines to get guests where they need to be while this service is down.
The closure is for “planned maintenance,” and thanks to DFB reader @clairesafford04 on Instagram, we got to see a quick peek at what that maintenance looks like!
These pictures show Cast Members working on the Skyliner over Hourglass Lake, near the Skyliner station that connects Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s Pop Century Resort to the main hub at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.
Make sure you plan for this transportation change if you’ll be in Disney World over the next few days! The Skyliner should reopen on January 30th, and we’ll be watching for any updates or changes to that plan.
Stay tuned to DFB for more updates on all the latest happenings at Disney World.
