Have you ever been to Aulani — A Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii?
The stunning island resort is a Disney Vacation Club property with a variety of activities, including restaurants, entertainment, character interactions, and more. But of course, here at DFB we want to know all about the FOOD — and today we’re sharing some details about Ulu Cafe!
Ulu Cafe is a quick service spot with “delicious self-serve items or cooked-to-order specialties that you can take to go or enjoy on our covered patio with an ocean view.” It’s located on the first floor of the resort, adjacent to the Wailana Pool.
The menu here varies a bit depending on the day and mealtime, but our friend Heather Sievers (@diningindisney on Instagram) took some photos during a recent visit to show what the selection could look like during your trip.
First up we spotted the Mickey Spam Musubi, available for $7. The sushi-like treat is a popular eat in Hawaii and this Mickey-shaped version is the perfect snack for a day chilling on the beach.
But the majority of the options were sweets! There were several classic Disney treats that you see at the theme parks, as well as some unique to Hawaii. Isn’t this Mickey White Chocolate Mac-Nut Cookie adorable? You can get him for $4.
If you want something more classic, we also spotted this Mickey Chocolate Chip Cookie for $4.
A delicious treat for breakfast (or any other time of day) is this personal-sized portion of Monkey Bread. It comes individually packed for $6.
Remember those classic treats we mentioned? This Mickey Marshmallow Wand certainly makes the list for $4.
They’ve also got Mickey-Shaped Chocolate Dipped Krispies Treats for $5 each. The one we saw was covered in sprinkles and had a little white chocolate decor with ‘Olu Mel on it.
Finally, we’ve got the Mac-Nut Brownie for $5. Macadamia nuts are a big export in Hawaii, so there are multiple treats you can find with the nut if you’re a fan.
We also have to mention the popcorn buckets! They’re $10 and can be refilled for $3 for the length of your stay — refills are actually free for Disney Vacation Club members. And the designs double as sandcastle forms! They’re a great souvenir that you can find at this restaurant.
Those are some of the items that you can find on the menu at Ulu Cafe! If you’re planning a trip soon, make sure to check out our other restaurant reviews from Aulani, including Off the Hook, ‘AMA ‘AMA, and Makahiki.
We’ll continue to keep you updated with all the news from Aulani Resort, including new deals and discounts that are announced. It’s a great vacation option if you’re looking to try something that’s still Disney-themed, but a little outside the box.
