PHOTOS: The FIRST Holiday Decorations Have Arrived in Magic Kingdom

HO HO HO — it’s officially the beginning of the holiday season in Disney World!

Time for the holidays!

We’ve only just said goodbye to the Halloween season, but we can’t help but get excited all over again for the official beginning of the holidays. So grab your peppermint latte and start your favorite Christmas song playlist — it’s time to check out the FIRST holiday decorations in Magic Kingdom!

We’ve already spotted some holiday decorations up at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT, and now that November 1st has hit and Halloween is officially over, Magic Kingdom has joined in on the fun. The first decorations that we saw were at the front entrance, where the 50th anniversary topiary display of Mickey and Minnie has been transformed with a festive theme.

Mickey and Minnie topiaries

Mickey and Minnie both have Santa hats on, and they’re surrounded by red and green gifts. Red poinsettias cover the ground as well!

Hi Mickey!

By the Main Street Train Station, there’s a garland full of ornaments and bows covering the fence, and the big Mickey-shaped decoration in the garden is now red.

We spotted more decorations over the front entrance tunnels…

…including wreaths with gold bows, fruit, snowflakes, and ornaments.

Several buildings along Main Street, U.S.A. are now decked out in garlands, bows, and wreaths!

Look carefully at the decorations to spot hidden treasures in them, like these decorations with a candy theme.

The light posts are decorated to match those front entrance wreaths, with snowflakes, fruit, and bells mixed into the greenery.

The Town Square Theater — where you can meet Mickey and Minnie — is also looking festive with big garlands and ornaments.

And the Main Street Confectionery didn’t want to be outdone — you can spot lots of bows and red flowers along one side…

…while the main entrance to the Confectionery has garlands with gold bows and ornaments.

Similar decorations adorn the Emporium gift shop as well!

Just look at this view down Main Street!

On the other end of Main Street, the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor had a giant wreath on the front and more garlands around.

Across the way, Casey’s Corner is also getting festive!

There were a few garlands up near Cinderella Castle…

…and wreaths were scattered around the Hub as well.

The big Christmas tree at the top of Main Street, U.S.A. isn’t up yet, but we’ll be watching for it to appear soon. A few other decorations are also missing, like some of the wreaths that we normally see along Main Street, U.S.A. Disney will likely get these decorations up in the next few days.

Holiday decor

And there you have it! That’s the new holiday decorations in Magic Kingdom so far, and you can keep checking back for more updates as Disney adds more. The holiday after-hours event, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, still has tickets available on select nights, although some dates are already starting to sell out. So make sure you get your tickets sooner rather than later. Keep following DFB for more Disney holiday news!
