The Line Is Scarier than the Ride at Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion Holiday

Halloween Time has officially kicked off in Disneyland!

Haunted Mansion Holiday

That means we’re starting to eat some new Halloween snacks (bring it ON!), checking out the AWESOME new character costumes (seriously, the Halloween costumes this year ARE THE BEST), and getting ready to attend our first Oogie Boogie Bash of the season next week! Today, Haunted Mansion Holiday opened and you won’t BELIEVE the lines to ride it.

We get it — it’s always exciting when the Haunted Mansion reopens with its Halloween and holidays theme of Nightmare Before Christmas. We love it when Jack Skellington and his friends take over the mansion of 999 happy haunts! But apparently everyone else loves it, too, because LOOK AT THIS LINE.

Lots of people

The line snakes outside of the mansion itself and around the New Orleans Square area.

It might be a while.

According to the Disneyland app, the current standby wait is 80 minutes.

That’s a line…

We spoke with a Cast Member who recommended that guests who wanted to ride Haunted Mansion Holiday could save a lot of time by purchasing Genie+ to access the ride’s Lightning Lane. Genie+ is $20 per day per ticket in Disneyland, but remember that it also includes unlimited PhotoPass downloads for each day you purchase it, too. This is what we did and our total wait was around 35 minutes (which is still longer than usual for a Lightning Lane, but definitely much shorter than 80 minutes!).

If you’re headed to Disneyland for Halloween, you will need to know that all tickets are sold out for Oogie Boogie Bash. However, you can still enjoy a lot of other Halloween activities in the parks, as well as in Downtown Disney.
