Come With Us to the Christening of Disney’s NEW Cruise Ship — The Wish!

It’s here! The day is finally here.

The Disney Wish

We have been waiting so long to board Disney Cruise Line‘s newest ship, the Disney Wish, and that day has finally arrived. Today is the ship’s Christening Ceremony, followed by the maiden voyage, and we’re thrilled to be attending both. If you weren’t able to catch the Christening Ceremony online, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

Bright and early this morning, we boarded a Disney Cruise Line bus to go to Port Canaveral, where the Disney Wish is docked.

We could spot the ship as the bus pulled up to the port — so exciting!

There it is!

When we arrived, we made sure to have all of the documents we needed (you’ll need your passport and Port Arrival form if you’re sailing with Disney Cruise Line), and then we headed up to the docks to see the new ship.

After a brief wait, it was time for the Christening Ceremony to begin. This ceremony takes place on the dock, with the Disney Wish located right behind the stage.

During the ceremony, there were a lot of fun performances by Disney Cast Members and characters! Captain Minnie and Captain Mickey were there, of course, in their sparkly uniforms.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek and Chairman Josh D’Amaro were both there to celebrate as well. They spoke briefly about the Disney Wish and thanked those who helped make it a reality.

During the event, Disney also honored the godchildren of the Disney Wishall the Make-A-Wish children! And during more performances, we saw characters like Chip and Dale, Daisy, Donald, Goofy, Tiana and Naveen, Cinderella and Prince Charming, Woody and Buzz Lightyear, Elsa and Anna, Rapunzel and Flynn, and more!
