Disneyland Resort reopened in April 2021 after closing in March 2020, but many rides and attractions are in a state of transformation right now.
Mickey’s Toon Town has been closed for a big reimagining and Tarzan’s Treehouse is closed and getting re-themed, and one ride has remained closed even after Disneyland reopened. But that’s changing soon — and here’s what we know!
Disney announced today that Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage will reopen in Disneyland Park on July 25th! The ride has been closed for refurbishment since Disneyland reopened in 2021 and it was originally scheduled to reopen in winter 2021, but that reopening date was extended until now.

According to Disney, the ride will reopen “bigger, brighter, and better than ever!” We can’t wait to check it out!
In case you didn’t know, this isn’t the first time the ride will be getting a reopening date! The original version of the Submarine Voyage opened on July 14th, 1959, and it was themed after the USS Nautilus, the world’s first nuclear-powered submarine. The original ride closed in 1998 after 39 years, and it eventually reopened with a new Finding Nemo theme.
This immersive ride takes guests underwater in an undersea expedition, and you might catch a glimpse of some of your favorite Finding Nemo characters! We’ll have to wait and see what Disney may have changed during the lengthy refurbishment.
Mark your calendar for July 25th to be among the first to ride this reopened attraction, and keep reading DFB for more Disneyland refurbishment and closure news!
